Support Us

Volunteers
There are many ways that you can join in and support the Museum. Even if you have just a few hours that you can commit to us several times each year we would like to hear from you. Perhaps you could help by:

  • volunteering as a steward in the museum
  • assisting the Archivist in the Archive Room
  • designing and arranging displays in the galleries
  • helping with publicity and fundraising.

Our stewards supervise the Museum during opening hours throughout the April-October season. A ‘shift’ lasts for two hours and most stewards commit to between two and four shifts a month. What they have in common is an enthusiastic interest in Salcombe and its history. Most join us without any specialised knowledge, they just pick it up. Our stewards are friendly folk who like to meet people and talk about the Museum, the town, the artefacts and generally make our visitors feel welcome.

Please email us if you think you could help.

Members
You can also support us by becoming a member of the Salcombe Museum Society for just £5 a year. By joining you will receive free admission to the Museum, a membership card and priority invitations to our regular talks and AGM. So, how do you join us? Easy! Download a Membership Application and Banker’s Order form by clicking here then fill out the forms and post them to:
