Thursday 28th March
The Museum re-opens with a special exhibition to mark its 50th Anniversary. Entry is free. This year it is planned to open every day until October 31st between 10.30-12.30 and 2.30-4.30 except Sunday mornings. We will be closed though on the first two Mondays in April while new volunteers are being trained up.
Tuesday, 9th April
Curious Club – a free holiday club for children aged over 6 run by the Maritime Museum with the Young Salcombe Centre. Theme: Local Shipbuilding and Boatbuilding Trades. 1-4pm. Drop off at the Museum, pick up at Young Salcombe Centre. Book your place at events@salcombemuseum.org.uk
Thursday, 11th April
‘Pirates, Wreckers and Smugglers on the South Hams Coast’, an illustrated talk by Roger Barrett. 7pm at Cliff House. Free entry for members, non-members £5, children u16 £2.50. Preceded by a short AGM.
Sunday, 14th April
Museum on Tour . 11am to 1pm outside Cliff House. A chance to get hands-on and share aspects of the town’s history through historic images, objects, and stories inspired by the museum’s collection. Admission free.
Tuesday, 5th May
Museum on Tour . 11am to 1pm in Courtenay Park. Theme: the US Navy in Salcombe including the base commander’s farewell speech on 7th May 1945. Admission free.
