Salcombe Maritime Museum is a respected, volunteer-led charity in Devon, committed to preserving the area’s rich maritime and social heritage. We’re seeking a decisive and proactive individual to serve as Chair of Trustees. In this leadership role, you’ll guide the Board, drive strategic direction, and ensure the charity operates effectively and with purpose. A talented team of Trustees help guide the Museum’s future, ensuring it remains a valued and inspiring resource for all.
We are looking to recruit a Chair who can help us to steer the Museum’s direction whilst ensuring robust governance. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, and an interest in maritime history and the stewardship of cultural heritage. Prior experience serving as a charity Trustee and/or working as a professional or as a volunteer in the heritage sector would also be desirable.
We aim to build an inclusive, balanced Board with diverse experience and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
